natIgnite 2026 Finalists
natIgnite 2026 Honorable Mention - Limitless Minds
Autism Edmonton has many valuable learning sessions, but users do not have an easy centralized way to access them on demand. Limitless Minds is a centralized, low-stress, accessible smart learning system (LMS) where autistic individuals, caregivers, and professionals can easily find, understand, access, and revisit resources anytime. The platform includes AI-powered smart search, transcripts, closed captioning, personalized recommendations, and a continue-watching feature, plus a community hub and a games section. A sensory-aware environment is central to the design. Unlike traditional educational websites, the platform adapts to the user instead of forcing the user to adapt to the platform, and it creates long-term impact for Autism Edmonton by increasing accessibility and supporting a sustainable income stream.
natIgnite 2026 2nd place - GrantPath
GrantPath helps students discover disability-related funding and move from uncertainty to a stronger, ready-to-submit application. Many students with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, chronic illness, or accessibility needs struggle without realizing they may qualify for support. At the University of Alberta alone, an estimated $60 million in student aid remains unclaimed because the path to funding is buried in confusing rules, documentation requirements, and intimidating forms. GrantPath turns that process into a guided workflow: a supportive chatbot translates policy into plain-language questions and identifies potential eligibility, voice-enabled clinician-visit rehearsals help students practise explaining their needs, and the tool helps produce a more complete, professional submission package.
