Project summary

A centralized, sensory-aware learning platform giving autistic individuals and caregivers on-demand access to Autism Edmonton's resources.

Problem statement

Autism Edmonton runs many valuable learning sessions, but autistic individuals, caregivers, and professionals have no easy, centralised way to access them on demand — and live schedules, long videos, and unclear organisation create further barriers, especially for users with co-occurring conditions.

Solution

A centralised, low-stress, accessible learning management system (LMS) for autism-informed content. It offers AI-powered smart search, transcripts and closed captioning, personalised recommendations, continue-watching, an on-demand AI chatbot, a community hub, and a games section. Neuroinclusive design choices (adjustable playback, predictable layout, reduced visual fatigue) are built in from the start, with subscription / membership management.

Key Highlights

  • Adapts to the user instead of forcing users to adapt to the platform

  • Designed to reduce sensory overload

  • Creates a potential sustainable income stream for Autism Edmonton
