natIgnite 2026 Finalists
natIgnite 2026 3rd place - InclusiTrip
InclusiTrip addresses the systematic exclusion of travellers with disabilities — including mobility, sensory, and cognitive needs — caused by fragmented, inaccurate accessibility information in the travel industry. It provides a centralized platform that displays hotels personalized to a traveller's accessibility needs, generating personalized match scores for each hotel based on the user's customized preferences, verified reviews, hotel information, and certification. Users can filter by specific needs (e.g., sensory-friendly spaces, wheelchair access, or neurocognitive requirements), save preferences to a profile, and use a personalized sensory feature such as white noise. Providers pay a subscription to advertise their accommodation on the platform.
natIgnite 2026 2nd place - GrantPath
GrantPath helps students discover disability-related funding and move from uncertainty to a stronger, ready-to-submit application. Many students with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, chronic illness, or accessibility needs struggle without realizing they may qualify for support. At the University of Alberta alone, an estimated $60 million in student aid remains unclaimed because the path to funding is buried in confusing rules, documentation requirements, and intimidating forms. GrantPath turns that process into a guided workflow: a supportive chatbot translates policy into plain-language questions and identifies potential eligibility, voice-enabled clinician-visit rehearsals help students practise explaining their needs, and the tool helps produce a more complete, professional submission package.
natIgnite 2026 1st place - Bonita
Bonita is a Google Chrome extension designed to improve reading accessibility for neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. By transforming standard web content into a more structured and visually manageable format, the extension helps users engage with online text more comfortably and effectively. Key features include sentence splitting, keyword bolding, a colour-coding system that highlights nouns, verbs, and adjectives, a Line Focus mode that dims surrounding text, and Text-to-Speech. Together these tools address common reading challenges such as difficulty concentrating, losing one's place on a page, and struggling to decode grammatical relationships within sentences.
